Reading Progress is a new feature in the Microsoft Class Teams Assignment builder that is designed to help students build confidence and reading fluency through personalized reading experiences.

Teachers can leverage Reading Progress to connect with students on an individual level, analyze their performance, and identify opportunities for differentiated instruction. A reading passage can be added to a Teams Assignment whereby students then record themselves reading, capturing both audio and video. Then, Microsoft’s AI will analyze the reading fluency and provide instant data insights, that visualize class and individual performance and growth.

Reading Progress is a great opportunity for an at home assignment that provides time to practice reading, while at the same time providing teachers with valuable reading progress data.

We are seeing evidence though our early adopters that Reading Progress has helped empower students to practice reading fluency independently, set goals, and track progress.

Microsoft’s own Mike Tholfsen created a fantastic video tutorial on how to use Reading Progress and access the results. Check it out below.
