We are excited to announce the rollout of the new Microsoft Teams desktop app, packed with enhanced features and improved performance to elevate your experience. Here are some key points to keep in mind during this transition:

Opt-In Availability

The new Teams desktop app is now available for you to switch on at your convenience. You will find the opt-in switch at the top left corner of the Teams app.

Flexibility until March 31, 2024

You have the flexibility to switch back to the classic Teams version if necessary, until March 31, 2024, when the new Teams will officially go live. You will see both versions coexisting on your desktop, but know that switching to the new Teams will be mandatory by March 31, 2024. Teams classic will no longer be available after this date.

Update Button

Be sure to look out for the prominent ‘Update’ button at the top right corner of the new Teams app. You may see an available update right after the initial install.

New Features and Improved Performance

Enjoy faster load and response time with the new Teams, as it is designed to use fewer system resources. Exciting new features include OneDrive app integration and enhanced Channel Posts with the ability to sort posts, pop out conversations to a window, and Announcement design powered by AI. Technical Support

If you encounter any issues with the new Teams, our support team is here to assist you. Please create a support ticket as usual at [go/support].

We appreciate your cooperation during this transition period. The new Microsoft Teams desktop app is designed to provide a more seamless and efficient collaboration experience, and we are confident that you will find these enhancements to be beneficial.
